Our mission at Play in the Past is to bring play based learning into Perth history lessons with our kits for hire and incursions. Students will get to learn about, explore, inquire and PLAY with a wide range of vintage items to support their understanding of change over time.
During the hour session, students will participate in a short discussion before igniting their curiosity by rotating through a range of hands on stations in small groups, with some supervision required (I recommend the best parent helpers!). The interactive stations will explore a range of concepts such as communication, technology, homewares, entertainment, toys and school through the ages. Our antique items include typewriters, telephones, cassette tapes, vinyl records, kitchen utensils and even floppy discs! Your pupils will get to sort our items by concept, order them on a tangible timeline, compare them to present day items and roleplay in an old fashioned classroom.
Our incursion will give your students the opportunity to engage in a wonder-full experience that brings the early years history curriculum to life.
Cost: $250 per session
