It’s been a while

It has been a hot minute since I have posted a blog, so lets catch up on all things Play in the Past.

  • I welcomed my baby girl and newest Play in the Past assistant. This made me a mum of a toddler, a newborn (now 6 month old!), a step mum, a dog mum and business mum. Ya girl is busy!

  • My parental leave ended in Term 2 and Play in the Past returned to Perth schools with a BANG! I visited 17 schools and delivered a whopping 43 sessions in 10 weeks. Whilst it was so hard saying goodbye to my little one, it was so amazing to be back sharing what I love with your students. Especially as 14 of those schools were Alumni, meaning they invited me back for a second/ third time! as if.

  • Term 3 has been just as busy with 16 schools booked in, including a Grandparent’s Day morning, sensory play fundraiser and many Hands on History Deliveries.

What does the future hold? MAGIC!

You may have heard by now that Play in the Past is launching a brand spanking new incursion next term, the Loose Parts Time Machine. I AM SO EXCITED!

This incursion is something that has been on my mind for a while now. It combines all of my (and your!) favourite things: History, STEM, nature based play, big loose parts, small loose parts, a picnic in the past, dress ups, sustainable and recycled resources, open ended play, collaboration, problem solving, child agency…. the lot!! It is a play experience like none other and is available for daycares to schools to vacation care. I may even take it for a spin at a pop up play event, the possibilities are endless.

My hopes and dreams are that I am able to share this wonder filled incursion to enough schools that I don’t have to do relief in Term 4. Let’s make it happen!

Please like and share to get more Perth children playing in the past.

Nicola
